Why use a transparent background?
A product on a transparent background sits cleanly on any page colour, banner or social post, and keeps your catalog consistent. Amazon and most marketplaces also ask for a plain white main image, which you can make from the transparent version.
Tips for a clean cut-out
- Shoot on white paper or a light box with even light, so the backdrop is bright and shadow-free.
- Leave space around the product so the background touches every edge of the photo.
- Light products need a darker backdrop. A white mug on white paper is hard to separate; use a grey or coloured backdrop and an AI tool instead.
- Compress the result. Cut-out PNGs can be large; the image compressor or WebP output keeps them light.
